Mansour Abbas Aims to Topple Right-Wing Government in October Elections
Mansour Abbas, leader of the Ra'am party, has sharpened his political goals ahead of the upcoming Israeli elections scheduled for October 27, 2026. At Ra'am's general conference, where candidates for the party list are being selected, Abbas declared the party's clear objective: to replace the current government, which he described as racist and fascist, with a new government of change in which Ra'am will be a full partner.
Abbas emphasized that Ra'am seeks not just external support but full participation in decision-making processes. He stated, "We want to be partners and represented so that we do not have to beg for resources, decisions, or laws. As partners, we will have the right to make decisions and shape policy." The party is finalizing its candidate list, with five additional candidates to be chosen by the party's executive committee to complete the top ten positions.
This move signals Ra'am's intention to be a decisive bloc that ensures the fall of the right-wing government and the formation of an alternative coalition. The party's strategy highlights its ambition to influence Israeli politics more directly and assertively in the next Knesset.
