Maccabi Tel Aviv Defender Raz Shlomo Reflects on Perfect Season Start

Maccabi Tel Aviv defender Raz Shlomo spoke after the team's 2-1 victory over Netanya, extending their perfect start to the season with five wins in five games. Shlomo acknowledged the difficulty of the match, noting that playing at Netanya's stadium is challenging, as they experienced in the Toto Cup semi-final. He stated that while the team created chances, they needed to improve their finishing and were less prepared at the start of the second half, but reacted well to secure the win.

Reflecting on the team's flawless opening, Shlomo attributed their success to thorough preparation and sticking to their game plan, especially after an unexpected setback in Europe. "We took a slap in Europe that we didn't expect," he said, referring to a tough draw and a difficult run of games. "Despite that, we stuck to the game plan, and it helped us win."

Shlomo also discussed Maccabi Tel Aviv's attacking style of play, admitting the team aims to concede fewer goals. "It's no secret that we play attacking football, and you can see everyone attacking," he explained. "We would like to concede less; we are analyzing things and hope to reduce the number of goals conceded in the coming games."

Regarding new signing James Tavernier, Shlomo highlighted the added experience he brings to the squad, particularly to the defense. He mentioned the presence of leaders like Ali, Dor, and Gabi, and expressed confidence that Tavernier's resume will benefit the team.
