Maccabi Tel Aviv Defender Raz Shlomo Reflects on Perfect Season Start

Maccabi Tel Aviv defender Raz Shlomo spoke after the team's 2-1 victory over Netanya, extending their perfect start to the season with five wins in five games. Shlomo acknowledged the difficulty of playing at Netanya, noting that the team struggled to create enough chances in the first half despite controlling possession. He stated that the team "responded quickly" in the second half to secure the win.

Reflecting on the team's flawless opening, Shlomo attributed their success to preparation and adherence to their game plan, despite a challenging European campaign. "We took a slap in Europe that we didn't expect, we got a very tough draw and entered a difficult run of games. Nevertheless, we stuck to the game plan and that helped us win," he said.

Shlomo also addressed the team's attacking style of play, admitting they aim to concede fewer goals. "It's no secret that we play attacking football and you can see everyone attacking. We would like to concede less, we are analyzing things and hope to reduce the number of goals conceded in the coming games," he explained.

Regarding new signing James Tavernier, Shlomo highlighted the added experience to the squad, particularly in defense. He also commented on his own position in the Israeli national team, expressing his honor to be considered and his willingness to accept any role assigned by the coach. Shlomo concluded by stating his personal goal is to maintain his current form, improve, and help the team concede fewer goals.
