Hapoel Haifa Player Punished for Cursing Coach After Substitution

Hapoel Haifa suffered their first league loss of the season on Saturday, falling 2-1 to Beitar Jerusalem. However, the more significant event for the club was the behavior of midfielder Anis Porat Ayish. After being substituted into the game and then quickly replaced, Porat Ayish cursed at coach Haim Silvas just before entering the locker room.

Porat Ayish reportedly told teammates he was frustrated by the substitution and said things he shouldn't have. Club owner Yoav Katz decided not to overlook the incident. "I know Anis Porat Ayish well, and fundamentally he is a good kid," Katz stated. "His grandmother and I were in elementary school together. Yesterday he did something bad. He will have to learn to overcome anger and frustration. What he did is unacceptable and he will be fined."

As a consequence of his actions, Porat Ayish will be suspended from training with Hapoel Haifa until he faces a disciplinary committee. Meanwhile, another player, Yaad Gonen, appeared dejected after receiving a red card, with teammates offering him support as the match concluded.
