Maccabi Tel Aviv secured their fifth consecutive league victory, maintaining a perfect start to the season with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Maccabi Netanya on Saturday. The win came just before the international break.

Despite Maccabi Netanya's pressure and a missed penalty by James Tavernier of Maccabi Tel Aviv, Tavernier scored the winning goal on the rebound about fifteen minutes before the end of the match. Maccabi Netanya had chances to equalize late in the game, including a missed opportunity by Matías Dabo in stoppage time.
