Maccabi Hadera Wins Gadi Abramovitz Memorial Volleyball Tournament

Maccabi Hadera secured victory in the third annual "Guri" women's volleyball tournament, held in memory of Gadi Abramovitz. The final match saw Hadera narrowly defeat Hapoel Kfar Saba 2-1, with the deciding set ending 15-12.

The tournament, held in the Kfar Saba arena named after Abramovitz, honored his significant contributions to sports, particularly volleyball. Abramovitz, who passed away two years and three months prior, was instrumental in transforming Hapoel Kfar Saba into a leading club, emphasizing youth development and making sports accessible to all children and teenagers. His philosophy centered on sports as a way of life and a means of educating values, during which Hapoel Kfar Saba achieved seven league championships and seven state cups.

M.S. Ramat Aviv finished in third place, defeating Maccabi Tel Aviv 2-0. Maccabi Hadera showcased a talented team featuring three foreign players. Hapoel Kfar Saba, under new coach Itai Bachrach, presented a young and ambitious squad, blending talented youth players with veteran captain Galit Dvash and Brazilian middle blocker Tamyra Silva De Melo.

Gadi Abramovitz's wife, Ofra Abramovitz, spoke at the ceremony, describing her husband as a man of action who believed in leaving a lasting legacy and contributing to others. Hapoel Kfar Saba captain Galit Dvash credited Abramovitz with saving the club from dissolution 17 years ago, transforming it into a successful club and a community, while also establishing a thriving youth department with over a thousand players.
