Bar Association Head Seeks Removal of Smotrich Video, Criminal Probe for Incitement

The head of the Israeli Bar Association, Amit Becher, has filed a petition with the Central Elections Committee demanding the removal of a video published by Bezalel Smotrich and the Religious Zionism party. The video reportedly depicts prominent figures showing the Bar Association and the judiciary being "dragged by force and violence." Becher stated that "in the face of incitement, violence, and attempts to insult and harm members of the judiciary, silence is not an option and action must be taken." He noted that the video includes scenes targeting the President of the Supreme Court, Judge Daphne Barak-Erez, and the Attorney General.

In addition to the petition, Becher has also appealed to the State Attorney General to open a criminal investigation into the matter. He emphasized the need to establish a "non-negotiable red line" against what he described as incitement and attacks on Israeli judges and the Attorney General.
