Calls for Mass Presence at Al-Aqsa Amidst Increased Settler Incursions

On Friday, 195 settlers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound through the Mughrabi Gate during morning hours, performing Talmudic rituals and religious ceremonies in the eastern section. These incursions included guided tours near the Dome of the Rock, where participants received explanations about the "Temple Mount." These events coincide with the ongoing Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah, now in its fifth day, and a broader campaign of "Judaization" in Jerusalem and at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In response to the escalating settler activities and rituals, Palestinian national, youth, and Jerusalem-based groups have issued calls for residents of Jerusalem and Palestinian citizens of Israel to converge on Al-Aqsa Mosque on Friday. The appeals urge a general mobilization and presence within the compound to counter the ongoing incursions and religious practices.

Hamas issued a warning regarding the threats facing Al-Aqsa Mosque, characterizing the current developments as more than just temporary incursions. The group stated that these actions represent a gradual progression, including the performance of prayers and Talmudic rituals within the mosque's courtyards.

Hamas highlighted specific practices observed in the compound, such as "epic prostration," blowing the shofar, and offering sacrifices, warning of the repercussions of their continuation. National and youth groups reiterated their calls for Palestinians in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and within Israel's pre-1967 borders to go to Al-Aqsa and remain present, citing the ongoing settler incursions and religious ceremonies during Jewish holidays.
