Neve Gadid Settlement in Jordan Valley Celebrates Official Recognition

The settlement of Neve Gadid, located in the central Jordan Valley, celebrated its eighth anniversary and received official recognition from the State of Israel on Thursday evening. The community, previously known as Camp Gadi, was established on the site of an abandoned Jordanian military camp. It currently comprises 57 families and includes daycare centers, kindergartens, a mikveh, and a synagogue.

The recognition, attributed to the efforts of Minister Bezalel Smotrich, was marked by a community event featuring activities for families and over 160 children. The celebration included tree planting and speeches from representatives of the regional council, the Settlement Division, the Ministry of Settlement Affairs, and the Amana movement, which has supported Neve Gadid since its inception.

David Chaiyani, head of the regional council, praised the residents' pioneering spirit and collaborative efforts. He highlighted the presence of 32 farms, 15 settlements, and hundreds of thousands of dunams under Israeli control in the area, stating, "We are winning against the Arabs on the ground." Eliyahu Attia, head of the staff for the Ministry of Settlement Affairs and a resident of the Jordan Valley, spoke about the struggle for the regulation of young settlements, expressing hope that the spirit of volunteerism and camaraderie would continue to guide the settlement's development.
