Basketball Legend Pini Gershon Returns to Screen with New Podcast
Israeli basketball icon Pini Gershon is set to return to the screen as a co-host of a new live podcast titled "Al Ha'Buzzer" (On the Buzzer). The podcast, launched by the Israeli newspaper "Israel Hayom," will be co-hosted by sports media personality Ofer (Juba) Gross.
The show will broadcast live on all of "Israel Hayom's" platforms immediately after the EuroLeague games featuring Israeli teams. Gershon and Gross will analyze the games, discuss key plays, and delve into behind-the-scenes developments. The podcast will also cover other significant events in Israeli and European basketball.
Gershon is widely regarded as one of the most prominent and colorful coaches in Israeli basketball history. His decorated career includes three EuroLeague championships with Maccabi Tel Aviv, eight Israeli league titles, and eight state cups. He has also coached Hapoel Galil Elyon, Hapoel Jerusalem, Olympiacos, and the Bulgarian national team.
Gross brings over two decades of experience in sports media, having held various roles at the Sports Channel, edited "Hamishiyot," and hosted podcasts like "Speak n' Roll" and "Shot."
"Israel Hayom's" editor, Amar Lachmanovitch, stated that the podcast is part of the newspaper's expanding sports coverage and digital presence, promising a live, professional, and engaging broadcast. Gershon expressed his excitement to start the show with Gross and "Israel Hayom," anticipating a fascinating EuroLeague season and promising unfiltered analysis and stories. Gross added that he and Gershon aim to provide immediate post-game discussions, stories, and opinions without filters.
