U.S. President Donald Trump stated he is nearing a significant decision regarding the potential resumption of large-scale military strikes against Iran. In an interview with Axios, Trump indicated that Washington is evaluating its next steps to conclude the ongoing conflict. "I have a big decision to make. Do I want to go in and F them? Or not? Before determining a future strategy, Trump intends to consult with Persian Gulf states. He is scheduled to meet with leaders from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman in New York on Tuesday, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
Trump also mentioned that Iran is in direct contact with Washington and is interested in reaching a ceasefire agreement. According to Axios, U.S. military forces will maintain their current presence in the Middle East through the end of the year, preparing for a possible escalation of hostilities.
When asked about a potential meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump responded, "Maybe."
