US Grants Visas to Iranian Delegation for UN General Assembly
The United States will issue visas to an Iranian delegation to attend the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York next week, a State Department spokesperson confirmed on Thursday. This decision comes amid the ongoing conflict that has entered its seventh month.
The spokesperson stated, "In accordance with our obligations as the host country, the main delegation of the Iranian regime will be able to attend the UN General Assembly." However, the delegation will face travel restrictions, including a ban on purchasing luxury goods, as per U.S. policy. The delegation will also be smaller than last year's.
An informed source indicated that the Iranian delegation includes President Masoud Pezeshkian.
