Arab Israeli Lawmaker Pledges Major Reforms to Arab Community
Member of Knesset (MK) Gilad Kariv, representing the "Democrats" party, has released a message in Arabic outlining three key commitments to the Arab public ahead of the upcoming elections. Kariv stated that the "Democrats" are "Israel's insurance policy for a sane Israel."
The first commitment is to abolish the Nation-State Law and replace it with a Basic Law that enshrines full equality for all citizens without discrimination. The second pledge involves repealing the Kaminitz Law, which Kariv claims stifles planning and construction in Arab villages and towns. He also promised to work with local authorities to help young Arabs build homes and futures within their communities.
The third objective is to close existing gaps through genuine five-year plans, providing meaningful employment opportunities for Arab doctors, teachers, and academics. Kariv emphasized that the "Democrats" party is the political guarantee for implementing these commitments and turning them into reality.
