Beersheba Celebrates Sukkot With Citywide Festivals and Family Events
Beersheba is inviting residents and visitors to celebrate the Sukkot holiday with a wide array of events, festivals, performances, tours, and family activities across the city's cultural, tourism, and leisure centers. Throughout the holiday, diverse activities will take place in city parks, the revitalized municipal market, the Old City, and museums. These include performances by leading artists, children's shows, and community events, many of which are free to the public.
A prominent event is the "Sukkot on the Lake" festival at Beersheba River Park, offering a family celebration with a central performance by Miki and "Paw Patrol," play areas, drumming workshops, craft corners, and a soft play area, all with free admission. The revitalized municipal market will host the "Food Festival in the Market," featuring two days of culinary experiences, food stalls, pop-ups, bars, art, and live performances.
Additionally, a "Simchat Beit Hashoeva" celebration will be held at Yaelim Park, including a family fun day, building activities, and a main performance by singer Avraham Fried. For those seeking evening entertainment, the Old City's Smilansky, Hachlul, and Anilovich streets will transform into a vibrant hub for "Sukkot Nights in the Old City." This event will feature live performances, DJ sets, artisan stalls, desert wine tastings, and rhythm and Brazilian dance workshops, with free entry.
Beersheba's science, nature, and culture institutions are also offering special holiday programs. The Carasso Science Park will host a water festival with water attractions, foam, shows, and scientific experiments. The museum complex will offer workshops on crafting with recycled materials, while guided tours will be available at the Well of Abraham. Experiential activities are planned at the Science Park, the Desert Research Center, and the Air Force Museum in Hatzerim. KKL-JNF will also hold a family fun day at Mitzpe Beit Eshel with workshops and a show by children's entertainer Meni Mamtera.
