Knesset Israel Yeshiva Expands Operations, Opens Northern Branch

The Knesset Israel yeshiva, led by Rabbi Meir Moghrebi, is experiencing significant growth, with both its main branch in Ashdod and its smaller yeshiva for younger students expanding their activities. The yeshiva emphasizes personalized attention for students, aiming to foster their Torah studies, spiritual development, and character building.

To accommodate its growing student body, the yeshiva recently opened a new branch in the North called 'Ourayta Knesset Israel.' Nearly 100 students have relocated to this new, pastoral campus, which offers a serene environment conducive to intense Torah study. This northern branch is staffed by experienced educators who provide guidance in religious observance and character development.

The yeshiva benefits from the close involvement of its president, Rabbi Shlomo Machfoud, a prominent rabbinical figure. Rabbi Moghrebi himself dedicates substantial time to the students, traveling to the northern branch twice weekly to deliver lectures, offer encouragement, and maintain a personal connection.

A recent event at the northern branch featured a moving spiritual gathering with renowned cantors Kobi Brumer and Yoeli Dickman, culminating in an emotional prayer and song session that deeply affected the students. Rabbi Moghrebi joined the event, further enhancing the spiritual atmosphere.

The increasing demand to join Knesset Israel has outpaced its current capacity, forcing the administration to turn away some prospective students. The yeshiva plans to construct a larger facility in Ashdod to accommodate future growth and continue its mission of nurturing Torah scholars.
