Rabbi Blocks Ears, Scolds Student for Reciting Blessing Prematurely

As Rabbi Schreiber entered the hall before delivering a lecture, a student announced "By permission!" and proceeded to recite the "Shehecheyanu" blessing, which is typically said upon experiencing something new or significant. The rabbi immediately covered his ears and rebuked the student, calling the blessing "a blessing in vain."
