The analysis, published by Basket News, highlights players whose roles and potential contributions may not align with their team's needs or their own career development.

Among those scrutinized is veteran forward Kenneth Faried, who joined Baskonia after a stint with Panathinaikos. Despite a strong start last season, Basket News questions whether the 36-year-old can still provide significant minutes in the EuroLeague, suggesting he might be more effective in shorter bursts. The outlet noted that Maccabi Tel Aviv might have found a better role for him as an energy player and a third big man in their fast-paced system.

Thomas Straznski's move to Hapoel Tel Aviv also raised eyebrows. Basket News suggested that while the signing is intriguing, the team may not have needed a player of his profile, especially given Chris Jones's previous role. They proposed that Straznski might have been a better fit for Fenerbahce under coach Sarunas Jasikevicius, where he could have had a defined role off the bench.

Finally, Trent Forrest's transition to a star-studded Fenerbahce roster is questioned, with Basket News proposing that teams like Valencia or Paris might have offered him a more prominent role, similar to his impactful tenure at Baskonia.
