Israel's Tough Anti-Terror Strategy Working, Says Minister Katz

Israeli Minister Israel Katz declared that Hamas understands its strategy has failed, citing a new Palestinian poll showing only 9.7% in Gaza believe armed struggle is the best path to Palestinian goals. Katz stated that while Palestinians have not become Zionists, they are "reading reality." He outlined Israel's strategy, developed with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which involves denying terrorist organizations territory, infrastructure, commanders, and the ability to regroup. This approach has been applied in Gaza, Lebanon, and northern Samaria, including population evacuation from combat zones, IDF freedom of action, destruction of above and below-ground terrorist infrastructure, and the elimination of terrorist commanders.

Katz asserted that Hamas faces a "harsh strategic reality" and that Israel will continue its operations to achieve its defense objectives and prevent a recurrence of the October 7th attacks. He vowed to thwart Iran's plans and prevent Iran or any other entity from rearming Hamas. The minister also addressed Turkish President Erdogan, suggesting he invite Hamas leaders to Antalya if he wishes to help them, and stated Erdogan would not set foot in Gaza.

Katz emphasized that his actions are coordinated with the Prime Minister and consider the broader regional picture. He indicated the campaign is ongoing, with Israel having significant objectives concerning Iran and other fronts, which will be pursued through military force and political wisdom. He concluded by stating that "reality on the ground determines" outcomes, not interpretations.
