Couple's Italian Honeymoon Cooking Class Canceled Over Israeli Flag

A newlywed Israeli-American couple, Carmit Levy and her husband from Kibbutz Ein Gev, had their honeymoon cooking class in Italy canceled at the last minute by the host due to the Israeli flag displayed on Levy's profile picture. The host, identified as Nico, cited "ethical and family reasons" for the cancellation, stating that Levy's "political stance" displayed via the flag was the cause.

Levy expressed outrage, calling the cancellation "blatant discrimination" and "antisemitism." She stated, "I'm furious, and I want the world to know about this antisemitism." The host, however, argued that Levy was the one imposing her political views by displaying the flag in the context of a cooking experience, making them "embarrassed" and prompting their decision to cancel.

Following the cancellation, Levy attempted to resolve the issue with Airbnb's customer service. She reported being met with delays and unfulfilled promises, with the company stating a "special team" would contact her, but no one had followed up. Levy expressed deep disappointment with Airbnb's handling of the situation, especially during what should have been a joyous honeymoon.

The couple's wedding was previously postponed due to the ongoing war, making this honeymoon experience particularly disheartening.
