Dozens of New Medics Join Hatzalah Volunteer Rescue Organization

Approximately 50 new paramedics have joined the Hatzalah volunteer rescue organization this week, following the completion of a training course. A ceremony was held at the Bnei Brak Municipal Council hall, where the new medics received their emergency equipment, including medical bags, vests, and communication devices. They will now begin operational duty with the organization.

The event was attended by Bnei Brak Mayor Chanoch Zeibert, Deputy Mayor Menachem Shapira, and several Hatzalah officials, including Chairman Rabbi Asher Shlomoivitz, CEO Rabbi Yaakov Yozaf, and Deputy CEO Chaim Bergman. Representatives from Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel's national emergency medical service, including Avichai Haddad, Director of the Dan region, were also present.

Mayor Zeibert highlighted Hatzalah's unique character and historical roots, noting its origins in a similar organization founded abroad before being brought to Israel. He recalled early volunteers leaving their studies and synagogues to save lives, emphasizing that this tradition continues today with a professional and successful rescue network.

Avichai Haddad of MDA praised Hatzalah's volunteers for their rapid response, often arriving at emergency scenes even before MDA teams. He thanked them for their remarkable cooperation, which benefits patients. Hatzalah Chairman Rabbi Asher Shlomoivitz stated that the addition of 50 new medics is a significant boost to their life-saving efforts, underscoring their commitment to providing fast, professional medical care until MDA arrives. CEO Rabbi Yaakov Yozaf added that more medics mean faster response times for those in need of assistance in Bnei Brak and surrounding areas.
