Security Drill at Kerem Shalom Crossing to Feature Gunfire, Explosions

The Israeli Ministry of Defense's Crossings Authority will conduct a large-scale security exercise at the Kerem Shalom crossing on Friday. The drill, scheduled to run from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, is designed to maintain the operational readiness of security forces stationed at the border crossing.

During the exercise, participants will practice various scenarios to ensure preparedness. Residents and travelers in the vicinity may hear sounds of gunfire and explosions, which are part of the planned training simulations. The Ministry of Defense emphasized that this is a routine drill and not indicative of any actual security incident.

Media coverage of the exercise will not be permitted, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Defense's spokesperson unit.
