Car Theft Ring Busted in North Tel Aviv, Five Suspects Arrested
Police in northern Tel Aviv thwarted a car theft ring overnight, arresting five suspects near Osishkin Street. The suspects were apprehended in a vehicle that aroused police suspicion. The group included three residents from the Palestinian territories, specifically Tubas and the Al-Far'a refugee camp, who were in Israel without permits. One of these suspects was a 17-year-old minor. The other two suspects were residents of East Jerusalem.
During a search of the suspects' vehicle, officers discovered equipment believed to be used for car theft. This included ignition computers for vehicles, a window breaker, and keys suspected of being intended for duplication. All five individuals were arrested at the scene and taken for questioning at the police station. Authorities intend to bring them before a court for a remand extension hearing.
