Ofer Winter Declines Shin Bet Security, Citing Self-Sufficiency
Ofer Winter, chairman of the Am Echad Yisrael party, announced Thursday that he is refusing personal security offered by the Shin Bet. The Ministerial Committee for Security Affairs had previously authorized the head of the Shin Bet to decide whether to provide security details for Winter, Gadi Eisenkot, and Yair Golan.
Winter stated that he is young and strong enough to protect himself and does not require security services. He urged the authorities to save the funds for more critical needs, expressing his lack of interest in the protection.
Winter's decision comes after the committee's decision to consider security for him and other prominent figures, highlighting his independent stance on personal safety.
