Maccabi Tel Aviv Coach Miller Focused on Maintaining Momentum

Maccabi Tel Aviv coach Kenny Miller expressed satisfaction with his team's energy and focus as they prepare to face Maccabi Netanya this Saturday, aiming to maintain their perfect start to the Israeli Premier League season. The team currently holds 12 points from four matches, following strong performances against rivals like Maccabi Haifa, Hapoel Be'er Sheva, and Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Miller stated that while the team is pleased with its current form, it would have been beneficial to add another player during the transfer window to increase squad depth. "It would have been nice to get another player and add depth," Miller said, "but unfortunately, that player didn't arrive, so we move forward."

Midfielder Dor Peretz, speaking at a press conference, acknowledged the team's early elimination from European competition as a setback but highlighted their swift refocusing on the league. "We tried to maintain this standard and move forward step by step," Peretz commented. He also praised teammate Gabi Kaniovsky, calling him a valuable asset who will help the team achieve its goals.

Regarding player availability, Miller provided updates on injured players. Dani Gropper is close to returning to training pending medical clearance, Sagiv is expected back soon from a minor issue, and Nikolaescu will require more time to recover. Tyris Asante has returned and is fit and focused after an injury-plagued start to the season.

Miller also addressed the team's performance difference between European competitions and the league, attributing it to learning from mistakes. "We were punished for mistakes in Europe, but we still controlled the game," he explained, emphasizing that the players have responded well to the European disappointment and are determined to continue their winning streak in the league.
