Channel 12 Reporter Guy Peleg Limits Studio Appearances Over Political Disagreements

News Channel 12 investigative reporter Guy Peleg has significantly reduced his studio appearances, citing fundamental disagreements with the network's editorial direction regarding political engagement. Peleg explained on his podcast that while Channel 12 aims to host politicians from across the spectrum to demonstrate impartiality, he is unwilling to share a studio with individuals he believes are actively campaigning against him and his reporting, particularly concerning the 'Shadei Teiman' affair.

"I am not prepared to sit with 'Bibi-ists' [supporters of former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu]," Peleg stated, adding, "In the situation I find myself in, I am not dancing with those who seek my demise." He clarified that the network has not forced him to participate in panels and he appreciates their support for his stance.

Peleg also addressed his on-air time compared to other commentators, noting, "I broadcast in a year what Amit Segal broadcasts in a week in terms of screen time, and I have no complaint." He described the current media discourse as one where "the masks have been removed."

When confronted with the argument that his refusal to participate in panels could deepen societal polarization, Peleg distinguished his situation. He argued that while his guest faced a "dirty political maneuver," his own situation involves those seeking to "destroy my life and my family's life." He asserted that those behind a campaign to "liquidate" him are not dialogue partners.
