White House Rejects Israeli Minister's Gaza Emigration Calls

The White House has reiterated its opposition to Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz's proposals encouraging the emigration of Palestinians from Gaza. A senior White House official stated that the U.S. does not support public statements advocating for the migration of Palestinian Arabs out of the Gaza Strip, according to The Times of Israel. This reaction follows recent remarks by Katz in favor of the idea of Gazans emigrating.

The U.S. official emphasized that President Donald Trump remains committed to his 20-point plan for ending the conflict in Gaza. This plan, according to the Trump administration's position, does not involve the forced displacement of the Palestinian population. Instead, it calls for Gazans to remain in the sector. While Katz and other Israeli officials promoting emigration do not explicitly state intentions for forced expulsion, critics argue that such policies could effectively lead to forced displacement.

The White House also stressed that the implementation of Trump's plan should be phased. The official noted the President's commitment to the full execution of his 20-point plan, which includes the complete disarmament of Hamas. Following the disarmament conditions, Israeli forces are expected to withdraw from Gaza. Concurrently, International Stabilization Forces, in conjunction with a new Palestinian police force, would assume responsibility for security in Gaza and surrounding areas.

Earlier reports indicated that Katz had announced preparations for a new offensive in Gaza, stating that Israel was ready to resume a full-scale military operation in the Strip.
