Israeli Defense Minister Denies 'Jewish Terrorism,' Links Gaza Solution to Displacement

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that he does not recognize the term "Jewish terrorism," asserting that terrorism is defined by actions against the State of Israel. He made these remarks during a "Decisive Moment" conference organized by Yedioth Ahronoth and the Israel Democracy Institute. When questioned about settler violence against Palestinian villages, Katz characterized such acts as "violence" and stressed the need to punish perpetrators, noting that some are currently imprisoned.

Regarding the situation in Gaza, Katz declared that there is "no real solution without real emigration from there." He claimed that 80% of Gaza's population desires to emigrate and that preparations for emigration by air, sea, and land are complete. However, he stated that Egypt is not prepared for this, and the process is delayed because receiving countries require U.S. support.

Katz also addressed the potential threat from Iran, suggesting that the likelihood of an Iranian attack on Israel is increasing due to mounting pressure and economic crisis. He commented on Iran's animosity towards Jews, citing historical events and stating that Israel is prepared to defend itself and launch attacks in coordination with the United States.
