US Prosecutors Settle with Pro-Palestinian Protesters Accused of Campus Damage
The story · English
Prosecutors in Washington State have reached a legal settlement with 33 pro-Palestinian demonstrators accused of causing $1 million in damages at the University of Washington. Under the agreement, criminal trespass charges will be dropped, and the defendants will not have to pay fines, provided they complete community service and commit no further offenses.
The protesters were arrested in May of last year after occupying an engineering faculty building. They demanded that the university sever ties with the company Boeing, alleging the company supports the Israeli military's actions in Gaza, which they termed "genocide."
