Ahmadiyya Conference in Haifa Proposes Medina Charter for Coexistence

The story · English

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Haifa is holding its 29th annual conference, a two-day event drawing a large number of community members, public figures, and representatives from various societal segments. Sheikh Muhammad Sharif Odeh, the Amir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Haifa, stated in an interview with i24NEWS that this year's conference focuses on adopting the "Medina Charter" as a renewed human model for shared coexistence, security, and stability.

Odeh explained that the spiritual conference aims to highlight the noble values established by Prophet Muhammad, who united diverse components and tribes in Medina under the concept of a "single nation" and inclusive citizenship without religious exclusion or discrimination. He believes understanding these principles can prevent bloodshed and sectarian conflicts.

The Islamic message, he added, carries a universal humanitarian address for all of humanity, citing the Hadith: "All creation is God's family, and He loves most those who are most beneficial to His family." This necessitates compassion and service to all people, regardless of their religion, color, or ethnicity.

Addressing the Arab community amidst rising violence, Odeh urged the rejection of rhetoric that incites excommunication, betrayal, and political or partisan disputes, especially during election seasons. He called for a return to the "sanctity of the human being" and adherence to religious and Quranic values that promote peace, love, and peaceful coexistence.
