Chabad Rabbi Attacked in Milan by Three Muslim Assailants, Suspects Arrested

Rabbi Tzemach Mizrahi, a Chabad emissary and the chief rabbi of the central Chabad community in Milan, Italy, was assaulted on Wednesday evening by three Muslim men while waiting at a bus stop in the city's Jewish quarter. Rabbi Mizrahi, 51, was on his way to pick up his children from school when the incident occurred.

According to Rabbi Mizrahi, the three individuals began to provoke him and subsequently snatched his hat. When he asked for it back, one of the attackers kicked him forcefully, sending him into the street. He stated that he did not require medical attention following the assault. Rabbi Mizrahi, an Israeli citizen who has served as a Chabad emissary in Milan for approximately 30 years, reported that the three suspects were apprehended by police.

He spent several hours at the police station providing details for the ongoing investigation. "The police took this very seriously, arrested the attackers immediately, and they will remain in custody tonight," Rabbi Mizrahi said. He also commented on the recent atmosphere, noting, "Lately, we are starting to feel their presence in the streets more and more." Despite this, he acknowledged the police's serious approach to the incident and expressed hope that the arrests would serve as a deterrent and lead to a calmer situation.
