Rocket Attack on Border Police Officer's Home in Northern Israel
Masked assailants fired an anti-tank rocket at the home of a Border Police officer in the northern Israeli town of Sajur over the weekend. Fortunately, no one was injured in the attack, but the officer's house sustained significant damage. The Shin Bet initially joined the investigation due to the target being a law enforcement officer, but withdrew shortly after determining the motive was personal rather than nationalistic or related to terrorism. Investigators believe a hit squad was responsible for the attack, and they burned their getaway vehicle after firing the rocket. No suspects have been arrested thus far. The officer, who was previously under a threat level of 6, is now classified as under a threat level of 4. This incident follows the discovery of a Matador rocket in northern Israel last week. A senior police official commented to i24NEWS that the IDF has become a "cash register for criminals," with innocent civilians ultimately paying the price.
