Brazilian Businessman Donates $500,000 After Divine Dream About Rabbi

A prominent Brazilian businessman has donated an additional $500,000 to the Ateret Shlomo yeshiva network after experiencing a vivid dream about Rabbi Shalom Ber Sorotzkin, the head of the institution. The donation comes on top of a prior commitment of millions of dollars from a group of major donors, contingent on Rabbi Sorotzkin spending Rosh Hashanah in Uman, Ukraine, near the tomb of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov.

Rabbi Sorotzkin had indeed traveled to Uman for the holiday, but a prominent donor from Brazil, who was part of the group, contacted the rabbi after the holiday with an urgent request. Rabbi Sorotzkin, who was en route to New York for further fundraising, rerouted his travel to Brazil to meet the donor.

Upon arrival, the rabbi was met by the businessman, who shared a profound dream he had on Rosh Hashanah night. In the dream, the businessman saw Rabbi Sorotzkin praying tearfully near Rabbi Nachman's tomb, expressing distress over being away from his yeshiva and students. The dream also featured an appearance by Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, who instructed the businessman to specifically bring joy to Rabbi Sorotzkin, stating, "God runs the world."

Deeply moved by the dream and the perceived divine message, the Brazilian donor announced he would personally contribute an extra $500,000 to support the yeshiva's scholars, despite the personal financial strain. The story has since gained significant traction across South America, highlighting the perceived supernatural assistance supporting yeshiva students.
