Nine Arab Israelis Appointed to Judicial Posts in Formal Ceremony

A formal swearing-in ceremony for new judges and judicial registrars was held yesterday at the President's Residence. The event was attended by the President, former Supreme Court presidents, Supreme Court justices, and senior judicial officials.

Lawyer Mohammed Na'amneh, head of the Northern District of the Bar Association and a member of the judicial selection committee, participated in the ceremony. He was involved in the committee's deliberations for selecting the new appointees.

The list of appointees includes nine individuals from the Arab community: Judge Ola Bishara Ghandour (Haifa Magistrate Court), Judge Anan Ghanem (Nazareth Magistrate Court), Judge Saeed Ghaliyya (Northern District Magistrate Court), Judge Salem Gideon (Northern District Magistrate Court), Judge Islam Saruji (Haifa District Traffic Court), Judge Mounes Younes (Central District Traffic Court), Judge Jumana Damouni Khoury (Juvenile Court), Judicial Registrar Jaris Ghantous (Haifa District), and Judicial Registrar Issam Hayek (Northern District).

Na'amneh stated that the day marks an important milestone for the judiciary and the Arab community, reflecting advanced professional presence and the community's qualified legal talent. He emphasized that these appointments continue efforts to enhance the presence of Arab judges at all judicial levels, aiming for fair representation that reflects the community's capabilities.

He expressed pride in the committee's role in selecting a distinguished group of new judges and wished them success in their judicial mission to uphold justice and the rule of law. Na'amneh concluded by congratulating the new appointees and wishing them success in safeguarding justice and citizens' rights.
