Hundreds Mark Synagogue Opening and Torah Scroll Installation in Homesh
Hundreds of people, including veterans of the "Homesh First" movement and public officials, gathered in the northern West Bank settlement of Homesh for a thanksgiving event. The ceremony marked the inauguration of a synagogue named after Rabbi Kook and the installation of a new Torah scroll, occurring 21 years after the settlement was evacuated.
Participants traveled to the revitalized settlement for the central event, celebrating the return to Homesh and the renewal of settlement in the northern West Bank, two decades after the disengagement and uprooting of the community. The event also featured a central rally and a performance by artist Beni Landau.
Beni Gal of "Homesh First" expressed "great joy" over the event. Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, stated, "Homesh started a revolution that will reach Gush Katif," referencing another former settlement area.
