Aviv Geffen Slams 'Incidental Damage' Film Creators After Sister Signs Support Petition

Singer Aviv Geffen has sharply criticized the creators of the film "Incidental Damage" (Naza), following a petition signed by hundreds of cultural figures, including his sister, director and screenwriter Shira Geffen, in support of the film and its makers.

Geffen, once considered a "poster boy for the left," posted on Instagram that the soldiers and families who died "slaughtered" would not applaud the film by Yuval Avraham and Rachel Shore. He added, "They were found with their hands tied."

The film, which examines the selection of targets for Israeli strikes in Gaza during the war, recently won a special jury prize at the Venice Film Festival, where its creators received a lengthy ovation.

However, the film has drawn significant criticism for its portrayal of events, with critics arguing it ignores the October 7th attacks and questions the reliability of its presented testimonies. The film is described as anti-Israel.
