Thousands of Bereaved Women Gather for Prayer at Tomb of the Patriarchs

Thousands of women who have lost their husbands are expected to gather at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron on Wednesday, ahead of sunset, for a special prayer and spiritual uplift event. The gathering, organized by the "Zeh Le'Zeh" organization, aims to bring together these women in a moment of prayer and solidarity at the sacred site.

The event will include prayers for divine judgment and acceptance, with participants intending to remember and pray for others. The "Zeh Le'Zeh" organization, led by Rabbi Rothenberg and supported by prominent rabbis, provides year-round assistance to thousands of widows, orphans, and individuals facing medical, emotional, and financial challenges.

According to the organization, 215 widows and 477 orphans have been added to their caseload in the Hebrew year 5786 alone. The organization highlights the sacrifices of these women, stating they suffer for the sake of the Jewish people. Prominent rabbis have issued blessings for those who support the organization, promising blessings of life, peace, success, and wealth.

The event is framed as an opportunity for participants to fulfill the wishes of religious leaders and to gain divine favor, particularly in the lead-up to Yom Kippur. The prayers are intended to invoke divine mercy and protection for the community, with assurances from religious authorities that supporters will not be forgotten.
