Petah Tikva Youths Launch Supply Drive for Free Soldier Supermarket
Youths and student volunteers in Petah Tikva have initiated a special product collection drive for "Kitbag," a unique free supermarket established in the city for IDF soldiers and security forces. The initiative, founded in 2023 by the Society, Youth, and Young Adults Department with funding from the Petah Tikva Municipality, allows any soldier or service member to obtain essential items at no cost. These include clothing, supplementary military gear, hygiene products, dry food, snacks, and basic consumer goods.
The "Kitbag" center is continuously operated and maintained by the city's youth, who manage shelf stocking and inventory as a gesture of mutual responsibility and appreciation for those serving. The center is located at 11 Uziel Street and operates Sunday through Thursday (excluding Tuesdays) from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM, and by appointment on Fridays.
The Petah Tikva Municipality and the organizers of the initiative are calling on residents to participate in the drive by donating products and helping to restock shelves, ensuring continuous and adequate support for soldiers throughout the year.
