Prominent Rabbi Addresses Sukkot and Yom Kippur Laws in Beit Shemesh

Rabbi Yaakov Meir Stern, head of the 'Kehilot Yaakov' rabbinical court in Bnei Brak and president of the Spinka Beit Hora'a (halachic decisor's office), delivered a comprehensive lecture on the laws of the Four Species on Tuesday. The event took place at the 'Chakal Yitzchak' Spinka study hall in Ramat Bet Shemesh Daled, Beit Shemesh.

Following the lecture, Rabbi Stern convened a special session at the Spinka Beit Hora'a, which he presides over. During this session, he addressed questions posed by the rabbinical judges of the Beit Hora'a and by Rabbi Avraham Kof, chairman of the 'Ezrat Achim' organization. The discussions focused on the laws pertaining to Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement).

The Four Species, consisting of the etrog (citron), lulav (palm branch), hadas (myrtle), and arava (willow), are traditionally used during the week-long festival of Sukkot, which immediately precedes Yom Kippur. The lecture and subsequent halachic session highlight the ongoing engagement of religious leaders with Jewish law and tradition.
