Fallen Soldier's Mother Slams 'Collateral Damage' Film

Tzurit Finigstein, mother of Sergeant Maoz Finigstein, who was killed in combat in Jabalia, has spoken out against the film "Nez'a" (Collateral Damage), which recently won a jury prize at the Venice Film Festival. Finigstein, who is also on the management board of the "Gevura" (Heroism) Forum, stated that the true collateral damage is the loss of her son's life.

She recounted that her son and his comrades were in an area that was supposed to be free of civilians. However, when they observed suspicious movement, they called for air support to verify there were no innocent people in the vicinity. While waiting for the support, her son was hit by a sniper. "It took a long time for the desired aircraft to arrive, and when it did, it was already too late. A sniper hit my son. If we are talking about collateral damage, this is the real collateral damage," she said.

Finigstein concluded by expressing her support for IDF soldiers, stating, "I want to tell the IDF soldiers that we are behind you, you are our heroes. We have no existence without you, and you are fighting the most just war there is, so be strong and we are behind you."
