Lod to Build Israel's Largest Concert Arena with 20,000 Capacity
The municipality of Lod has announced plans to construct a new concert arena with a capacity of 20,000 seats, which would make it the largest venue of its kind in Israel. Currently, the largest concert hall is the Pais Arena in Jerusalem, which can accommodate 11,000 people.
The proposed arena will be built on a 35-dunam site near the Ganey Aviv station. In addition to the main arena, the project includes plans for a conference center, retail spaces, hotels, offices, and parking facilities.
The development is slated to be implemented through a public-private partnership model, covering design, financing, construction, operation, and maintenance. The concession for the developer will have a maximum term of 24 years and 11 months, excluding construction time.
The total investment for the project is estimated to be at least 1 billion shekels.
