Yair Golan's Party Attacks Netanyahu Over Venice Film Festival Controversy

The political storm surrounding the documentary film "Nezar" and its win at the Venice Film Festival has escalated, with Yair Golan's "The Democrats" party releasing an aggressive campaign video targeting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The satirical video questions public attention on the Italian film festival, posing exaggerated queries such as "Who funded the Venice Film Festival?" and "Did the Prime Minister receive advance notice of the festival?" The party then pivots to a direct attack on Netanyahu's conduct since the October 7th attacks.

"He wants us to talk about anything but his failure. He will do anything for us to forget that he is the one responsible, the creator, and the director of the terrible disaster in Israel's history," the video states. The campaign concludes with a direct call to the Prime Minister and the public: "Netanyahu, soon we will put an end to the horror movie you have put us in."

This move comes three days after the controversy began, with Golan's party using the film festival as a platform to criticize Netanyahu's leadership and perceived attempts to distract from his responsibilities regarding the events of October 7th.
