Dinamo Zagreb Striker Dion Drena Beljo to Miss Europa League Opener vs. Hapoel Be'er Sheva
Hapoel Be'er Sheva will begin their Europa League campaign on Wednesday, hosting Dinamo Zagreb in Bucharest for the first matchday of the league stage. The Israeli club will be boosted by the news that their Croatian opponents will be without their top scorer, Dion Drena Beljo, who sustained an injury during warm-ups before a recent match against Hajduk Split. The 24-year-old forward has been in strong form this season, scoring nine goals and providing six assists in 11 appearances in the Croatian league and Champions League qualifiers.
Dinamo Zagreb will also be missing defender Stefan Ristovski, who joined the club this summer from Rijeka and is also unwell. This leaves the Croatian team with only two fit center-backs for the match: Spain's Sergi Domínguez and Scotland's Scott McKenna. Dinamo Zagreb has had a mixed start to their domestic season, currently sitting fourth in the league table with 13 points from a possible 18, trailing league leaders Hajduk by three points, who have a game in hand.
The match is scheduled to take place in Bucharest as part of the Europa League's league stage.
