Karmiel Mayor Moshe Koninski Appointed Chairman of Local Authorities General Assembly

Karmiel Mayor Moshe Koninski has been appointed chairman of the General Assembly of the Union of Local Authorities in Israel. The appointment was made during a General Assembly meeting attended by the chairman of the Union of Local Authorities, Haim Bibas, the chairman of the Federation of Local Authorities, Shay Hajaj, and local government representatives from across the country.

In his remarks following the appointment, Koninski emphasized that local government is the public system closest to the citizen, interacting with residents in their communities daily. He noted the diversity of the authorities, encompassing cities and councils with Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Druze, and Circassian residents, adding that partnership among these communities is stronger than any disagreement.

Addressing the challenges of wartime and crises, Koninski spoke about evacuating families, assisting affected authorities, and responding at impact sites, providing solutions for all sectors and communities. He stated that local government should serve as an example for Israel, demonstrating that differing opinions and disputes can coexist with collective action for the public good and the preservation of unity.

Looking ahead to the new year, Koninski extended greetings to local government heads, employees, and residents of Israel, offering a special blessing to the Druze community for the holiday of the Prophet Sabalan. He concluded by wishing for a year of security, peace, camaraderie, and mutual aid.
