Man Indicted for Violent Robberies in Central Israel

Police in Yavne have concluded a comprehensive investigation into a series of serious robberies and thefts that occurred in August at businesses and gas stations in Yavne and Ness Ziona. The suspect faces an indictment with five charges, including aggravated robbery, attempted robbery, and theft. A court has ordered his detention until the legal proceedings are complete.

Investigators uncovered a pattern of violent behavior. The suspect, disguised with a motorcycle helmet or head covering, used pepper spray and a knife. In several instances, he sprayed employees directly, struggled with them, and fled with thousands of shekels from cash registers.

In one particularly severe incident captured on security cameras, the suspect fought with a minor working at a gas station convenience store. He sprayed the employee with pepper spray and attempted to stab him with a knife before stealing cash.

Police spokesperson Commander Golan Haddad stated that "operational activity combined with investigative work allowed us to build a very significant evidentiary foundation that led to the indictment. The Israel Police and Yavne station will continue to act decisively to protect public safety and property."
