The Pentagon is streamlining procurement processes and reducing production times, while also stockpiling critical materials and specific munitions for rapid response to emergencies. The report, commissioned by Congress, covers the period from the war's start on February 28 to June 30.

This is one of the first public U.S. government reports to document the cost, scale, and impact of the conflict involving the United States and Israel against Iran on the U.S. military, State Department, and other agencies. It provides governmental confirmation that Iran targeted the U.S. Navy's main logistics hub in Bahrain using drones and ballistic missiles.

The report also details damage to military equipment, aircraft, and other materiel during the first four months of the war, including the destruction of at least 30 large U.S. drones.
