Local Football Cups Culminate With Key Promotion Clashes
The final matches for the regional cups in Israel's second and third football divisions are being held today, with winners securing divisional trophies. Yesterday, Hapoel Tayibe defeated Bnei Tayibe 2-1, advancing in the cup competition.
In the second division, winners of the regional cups will advance, but unlike the third division, both winner and loser continue to the next stage. A significant match features Ittihad Shfaram, coached by Firas Maghribi, against Hapoel Yarka, coached by Fayid Hassoun. This game is seen as a potential indicator of their ambitions for promotion to the first division.
Hapoel Daliyat Al-Karmel will play away against Maccabi Kfar Yuna. Both teams have aspirations for the top of the Northern B region standings, especially after the Football Association's court disqualified Hapoel Givat Olga and Maccabi Asefa from the competition due to a match stoppage between them.
In the third division, Hapoel Jisr Az-Zarqa will host Al-Ikhwa Kafr Qara at 8:15 PM in a cup match for the Marj region. The winner will proceed in the cup tournament.
