Reality Star Israel Deutsch Reveals Past Struggles With Enuresis, Debt

Israel Deutsch, who gained public recognition as a star of the dating reality show "Varet" on Reshet 13, shared a personal and emotional video on social media addressing envy and the "evil eye" directed at him since becoming a public figure. Deutsch emphasized that his path to success was fraught with significant hardship.

"Whoever is jealous of me now, should have been jealous when I was washing stairs at 13 just so I would have something to eat," Deutsch stated in a rare, candid confession. He revealed he suffered from severe anxiety, admitting, "I wet the bed every night until I was 14." He also underwent heart surgery in intensive care at age 20 and, by 23, was divorced with two young children, tens of thousands of shekels in debt, and working four jobs simultaneously.

"Never be jealous of what someone else has; you won't know what they went through to get there," he concluded. Deutsch, who is now married to Maayan Ruth Shalom, whom he met on the show, previously disclosed that his divorce from his first wife involved intense legal drama, including a police investigation on suspicion of violence stemming from disputes over visitation during his reserve military service. After a lengthy legal battle, the case against him was completely closed due to lack of evidence, and he firmly stated he never resorted to physical violence.
