Israel's national basketball team will begin preparations on Sunday for the July window of the 2027 World Cup qualifiers. Head coach Ariel Beit Halahmy and his staff announced a 15-player training roster on Friday, with 14 of them expected to travel with the team to Latvia.
The biggest headline is the first senior national team call-up for Benaya Sarur. Ethan Burg is also back in the squad for the first time since last summer's EuroBasket.
Israel will play Germany on July 3 in a home game staged in Latvia, then face Croatia away in Osijek on July 6. The roster includes Noam Yaacov, Yam Madar, Ethan Burg, Yair Kravitz, Kadin Carrington, Guy Palatin, Adam Ariel, Joaquin Schuchman, Netanel Artzi, Lior Carera, Roman Sorkin, Tomer Ginat, Yotam Hanochi, Ili Dolinski and Benaya Sarur.
The team is hoping to keep its qualifying campaign on track and earn important results against two strong opponents in the fight for a place at the 2027 World Cup.
