Turner Unfazed by Polls, Criticizes Netanyahu's Economic Policies

Keren Turner, a political figure, expressed confidence that poll numbers for her party, 'B'Yachad,' can still change significantly, stating they could "change another 100 times." Speaking on the radio program 103FM, Turner criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's economic policies, particularly his approach to the national budget and taxation.

Turner argued against the notion of budget surpluses, asserting that Israel faces a deficit, the burden of which is exacerbated by interest payments. She accused Netanyahu of intending to place additional financial strain on working citizens and military service members, a policy she vowed to change. "We intend to change this," she stated.

Furthermore, Turner addressed the issue of ultra-Orthodox education, advocating for its integration into the state system to include subjects like democracy and citizenship. She expressed concern that 24% of first-graders in this sector are being educated separately from mainstream Israeli society, a trend she believes the state cannot sustain. As an economist, Turner highlighted her concern over long-term trends and the government's failure to address fundamental societal issues.

Turner also made a strong statement regarding national service, declaring, "Whoever does not enlist will not receive a shekel from the state." This suggests a potential policy linking state funding to military or national service participation.
