Maccabi Ashdod Basketball Faces Hapoel Beer Sheva/Dimona in Winner Cup

Ashdod coach Dan Katzir stated that the week of practice has allowed players to improve their fitness and chemistry. He confirmed Dawson would not play but is expected back soon. "The most important thing is to continue connecting," Katzir said.

Ben David added that the game is another opportunity for the team to connect and execute their practiced plays. He believes there were positives to take from the loss to Jerusalem and that lessons learned will be applied. "We saw video, we will draw conclusions, and I hope it will be reflected tomorrow in the game," he said.

Hapoel Beer Sheva/Dimona will officially open their season with this home game, their first official match after a challenging summer where their participation in the Premier League was uncertain due to financial difficulties. The team managed to secure a budget, build a roster, and sign players quickly. They have also signed American coach Doug Spradley. American guard Amari Bailey, a key signing, has not yet arrived in Israel due to bureaucratic procedures but is expected in the coming days.
